A French Teacher

One of my students in Paris, France.  Learning a second language can also give you a deeper understanding of other cultures, apart from improving your chances of landing a good job or advancing in your career.

A new language is a new life.  Une nouvelle langue est une nouvelle vie.

French is the 5th most spoken language in the world and the 2nd language learned as a foreign language after English.

How to make money by knowing a foreign language and travel the world

Why?

Because doors are open to many opportunities when you learn another language.

Your office can be here and anywhere around the world.  You can write a blog about your travels.

You can always make money, and can always keep memories of your travels and as well you can be selling digital products for your travel  bloggers.

Last year at HCMWorks wrote an article about a study by The Economist that found the demand for contingent workers would skyrocket over the next five years, with more than 61 percent of top bosses expecting the use of contract labor to increase.  Meaning your opportunity to be your own boss and live a remote lifestyle is only going to increase, earning money while traveling using your language skills.

Statistics:

Nearly 47% of workers worldwide are freelancers (World Bank)

World Bank data shows that 46.4% of all workers worldwide are self-employed. The total number of freelancers globally is estimated to be 1.57 billion people out of a total global workforce of 3.38 billion.~according to Exploding Topics

Language Jobs:

Some of these language jobs can fund your adventures. You can become an online language teacher, an independent translator, a travel writer, a tour guide, language tester, a copywriter, a bilingual virtual assistant, a customer service representative for IBM, Amazon, and American Express for a remote customer service job and in addition, the travel industry and tourism.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Did you know that around 10,000 words have been borrowed into English from French.  So, you already know French words.  How about words like:

Joie de vivre, Je ne sais quoi, Souvenir, Bon voyage, Bon appétit, avant garde, apéritif, ballet, chauffeur, and so on.

So, find a conversation partner or join a conversation club. These two things can also be done online.  Use your new language as a tool to communicate from the first day. As a matter of fact you can sign up for a penpal with my language exchange.

Furthermore, you can listen to French radio, radio France

I teach French, j’enseigne le français

But, first let’s start with La Grammaire Française.

Present Tense

Verbs have three persons: the speaker, the person spoken to, and a third person, referred to neither to the speaker nor the person spoken to.  French just like English, has two forms: singular and plural.

Singular

  • First person – Je – I
  • Second person – tu – you
  • Third person – Il/elle/on

Plural

  • First person -Nous – we
  • Second person – Vous – you
  • Third person – Ils/elles – they
